A canopy turns an open generator set into something that can sit beside a building with people in it. It cuts the noise, keeps the weather and the dust off the engine, and stops anyone reaching a hot or moving part.
How quiet a canopy set actually is
Our canopy units measure between 63 and 82 dB(A) at 7 metres depending on rating. The smaller commercial sets sit close to normal conversation heard from across a lawn; the largest industrial sets are louder simply because there is more engine inside.
The exact figure for each rating is listed on its product page — we publish the number rather than the word “silent”.
The canopy is only half of it
Exhaust routing and where the set is placed matter as much as the enclosure. A well-built canopy pointed at a bedroom window still generates complaints; the same set turned ninety degrees does not.
That is part of what the site survey settles, before the foundation goes in.
What the enclosure is built to do
- Acoustic lining and a baffled air path, so the engine breathes without the noise escaping the same way
- Radiator and air path sized for 50 °C ambient and heavy dust, so the canopy does not cook the engine in summer
- Lockable doors on both sides for service access
- A controller window, so the panel can be read without opening the set
The rest of the turnkey job.

Ask an engineerAn open set suits a dedicated generator room with its own ventilation and sound treatment. A canopy set suits everything else: outdoors, on a rooftop, beside an occupied building or anywhere a neighbour can hear it.
Not when it is designed for the climate. Our radiators and air paths are sized for 50 °C ambient rather than a European datasheet, which is exactly the condition a Pakistani summer imposes.
Yes. Canopy sets are on the floor at our Lahore showrooms — walk in, open the doors and look at the lining and the build.
A free site survey, an honest recommendation on rating, and an itemised quote with nothing buried in it. No obligation either way.
